Madison Gaber, 2015 graduate of Lewisville ISD’s Marcus High School, was awarded the Highland Village Women’s Club Scholarship through LEF’s scholarship program last spring.

“When I think of getting the scholarship,” Gaber said. “I feel so grateful to have had such a compassionate school district that truly cared enough about each individual to offer this scholarship to its students.”

Gaber now attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. “As for my plans, I will be graduating with a dual major in Marketing and Management with two minors in Spanish and Communications,” she said. “I am keeping busy with my sorority and with the College of Business Honors Academy as well as the university honors program.  I am planning on studying abroad, and I am so excited just to see what the future holds for me.  This all goes back to the amazing foundation I was raised on and my teachers in the beginning who inspired me.  So thank you to LISD.”

Gaber recognizes the impact of the LEF scholarship on her college experience. “Because of this scholarship, I did not have to work as my parents insisted I focus solely on school as my job.  Therefore, I have been given the opportunity to join a sorority and participate in intramurals and really get involved in campus life.”

LEF works with local booster clubs and PTAs to administer scholarships, and is home to endowed scholarships designed to honor the memory or legacy of those who play a role in student success in LISD.

LEF is proud of Gaber’s success thus far and is honored to be a small part of it! LEF will have a similar role in LISD’s 2016 graduates’ future. Scholarship applications are currently under review.

Applicants will be notified via email in April as to the status of their application. Those selected will be invited to participate in LEF’s annual Awards Night on May 9, at Lewisville High School’s Stuver Auditorium, where benefactors will be on hand to present awards.
