The Lewisville ISD Education Foundation (LEF) opened the 2021-2022 scholarship application at lisdef.com. LEF invites all LISD seniors to apply before the application process closes at 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022.
Seniors must complete the application here to be eligible for all 350 scholarships. Applicants are automatically paired with scholarships for which they are eligible. Criteria are broad and based on academic achievement, financial need, extra-curricular interests, schools attended and future plans. All LISD seniors should apply.
“We have a wide variety of scholarships,” LEF Programs Coordinator Sherah Robinson said. “I think sometimes kids hear ‘scholarship’ and think it is only for the valedictorian, but the truth is there will be a wide variety of students awarded a scholarship. The awards night, where we present most of the scholarships, is the most inspiring event of the year. A diverse group of LISD seniors with varying interests, accomplishments and abilities take the stage to receive their scholarships and to be honored for what sets them apart.”
LEF hosts scholarships for booster clubs and PTAs across the entire school district. Additionally, LEF houses endowed scholarships in memory or in honor of individuals who have contributed to LISD’s culture of student success.
Applicants will be notified via email in April as to the status of their application. Those selected will be invited to participate in LEF’s annual Awards Night on April 19, 2022, at Lewisville High School’s Stuver Auditorium where benefactors will be on hand to present awards.
A 501(c)3 organization, LEF is dedicated to providing teacher grants and student scholarships within LISD. Since its founding in 1990, LEF has provided more than $5 million to students and teachers in LISD to fund expenditures not covered by tax dollars. Contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.
