Thank you for your support of students and teachers in Lewisville ISD. Your support has enriched the quality of public education across LISD. You have aided the District in its pursuit of innovative learning and commitment to develop tomorrow’s leaders.

Here’s a peek at one teacher grant you made possible at Peters Colony Elementary School. You helped music teacher Alisha Odoms teach literacy through musical storytelling. She led students through a discovery of books by creating soundtracks to them. Students could play music on new instruments purchased by the teacher grant to support the reading of each book. Odoms went above and beyond to make it a community project that saw firefighters, police officers, school officials, and more participate by reading a book to the soundtrack the students provided.

“It just sent chills down my back. We were connecting on both sides: the kids and the readers,” said Odoms. “Musical Storytelling day was amazing.”

You helped LEF award 64 teacher grants for $100,00 this year. For more on this one, READ HERE.

Meet Jillian Reese, a 2019 LEF scholarship recipient. She is currently at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas pursuing medical school. She will likely major in chemistry or biochemistry.

While at Southwestern, Reese has already met the university’s president, learned Latin, and is taking in new experiences she never thought possible.

“The LEF scholarship put less financial pressure on my family,” said Reese. “Southwestern was my top choice school, but it is very expensive. I was considering not going here, but the LEF scholarship helped make it possible.”

You helped LEF award 330 scholarships for $225,805 last year. For more on this one, READ HERE.

The Lewisville ISD Education Foundation and LISD could not continue to set the pace for public education in the state of Texas without the dedicated commitment of community volunteers, partners, and donors like YOU. On behalf of all of us, thank you, and we sincerely appreciate your desire to make the best possible education available for all LISD teachers and students.
