LEF Grant Program Keeps Pace with Classroom Needs

For 20 years, support for classroom teacher grants remains at the heart of LEF's mission.

The Teacher Grant program empowers teachers to "think outside the box" in creating innovative classroom projects and provides teachers and students access to the latest technology and instructional tools.

Requests reflect advances in technology and instruction, and LEF is right there to provide unparalleled classroom support and assistance!

Since LEF began awarding grant funds, requests for technology and literacy tools continue at the forefront of need. The chart below illustrates significant advancements in the technology arena. However, advances in technology have not diminished teachers need for books, having the same number of requests for books in 2009 as in 1991!

Then and Now: How Grant Requests Have Changed

As 2010 requests pour in at the end of this school year, we thrill to see the innovative ideas teachers hope to bring to their students. LEF proudly supports the teachers of LISD in their efforts to provide excellence in the classroom. Regardless of where technology and creativity takes us, LEF is there!

To continue providing teachers with the latest instructional tools and technology, we need your help!
