LEF supports district staff, both professional and paraprofessional, who wish to pursue a higher education, by awarding fellowships. Applications are due the first Monday of March.

2011 Fellowships Awarded
Carolyn Vines Teacher Fellowship – Chrystal Andrews, Huffines Middle School
Chrystal is working toward her goal of becoming a teacher. She is interested in working with Special Education students who are vision impaired.
Kitty Hudnall Fellowship – Tracy Spradley, Lakeview Middle School
It has been a goal of Tracy's for some time now to go back to school and become a school counselor. She feels she has a deep calling to make a real difference.
2010 Fellowships Awarded
Mack R. & Minnie Mae Bogard Fellowship - Lynn Knowles, Flower Mound High School
Lynn is working toward her PhD in the Rhetoric program at Texas Woman’s University. Her plans for her dissertation are to examine voice in student writing.
Carolyn Vines Teacher Fellowship – Erin L. Howard, Bridlewood Elementary School
Carolyn is currently enrolled in the Texas Woman’s University Administration program and is working towards her Master’s in Education in Education Management.
LISD Employee Giving Fellowship – Sharlyn Kaye Elliott, DeLay Middle School
Sharlyn feels that by obtaining a graduate degree in Administration from Concordia University she will have the ability to impact a larger number of students.
